Below is a list of outreach activities I have participated in, including a brief description of what I/we did:

The Nature Conservancy – Ecohydrology of juniper encroachment: implications for management in sagebrush steppe –presented juniper hydrology research to a group of 16 individuals at the Boise Nature Conservancy office. Groups represented included, in addition the the Nature Conservancy, Trout Unlimited, Natural Resources Conservation Service, Idaho Fish and Game (March 2015)

Bureau of Land Management – Ecohydrology of juniper encroachment: implications for management in sagebrush steppe -presented juniper hydrology research to 10 BLM employees in Boise, ID (March 2015)

Bureau of Land Management – Bruneau-Owyhee Sage-grouse Habitat Project (BOSH) – Conducted Social Impact Assessment for the BOSH EIS (Spring 2015)

IGERT annual meeting – presented juniper hydrology research in the field (2014)

Science Fair – science judge for science fair at St. Paul’s Academy Science Fair, Bellingham, WA (2014)

Owyhee Research and Restoration Round-Up – Presented social-ecological study of sagebrush steppe (2013) link

Adventure Learning – discussed my research on juniper hydrology and why it’s important to water (2012) link

Palouse Land Trust – Board Member (2011 – 2013) link

Ecosystem Services Group in Nicaragua – Presenting findings of riparian forest hydrology to government and community leaders (2010)

Ecology Student Group in Nicaragua – Presenting my research and discussed implications of land management on water resources in Rivas (2010)

Paschal Sherman Summer Science Camp – partnered with Bellevue Community College to lead science activities for students (2010)

Photo: I am speaking an a climate change outreach day I organized with several teachers at Omak High School in north central Washington. I discussed impacts of climate change in the Northwest and had students brainstorm ways their communities can adapt to changes in the climate.
